Day 32: The Month of the Military Child
In addition to being National Autism Awareness Month, April is also Military Child Appreciation Month. I’ve been a military spouse for nearly eight years. Family members of individuals serving in the armed forces are accustomed to transient living. They must quickly adapt to changes that impact the entire household, no matter how hard that can be.
What happens to military-connected children with special health care needs during this crisis? The good news is that there are legal protections for highly mobile children and children living in complex family environments. However, you may need someone to advocate on your behalf.
If you or an immediate family member is a member of the military, book a free consultation on my website to discuss how MSR Legal can serve your child with special needs: https://www.msrlegal.org/book-your-consultation. Continue to follow me on Instagram, @msrlegalconsulting , as I post about the unfolding developments in education and special education.
Stay healthy,
Oroma
