Day 33: Celebrations during a Pandemic

Today I baked a strawberry cake with my daughter. We didn’t have an occasion for it, except to celebrate being together and healthy. The experience made me think about so many families who had been planning sizable celebrations that can no longer take place due to the pandemic.

I think we’re all beginning to appreciate the moments, no matter how few and far between, when we can enjoy each minute of a simple activity like baking a cake. I hope that the calm and levity of simple celebrations rub off on your household, especially your kids.
