Transitioning to the Next Chapter
With the month of May upon us, families have much to look forward to, like graduation parties and summer vacations. Many students will be making big transitions: from preschool to kindergarten; from elementary school to middle school; from middle school to high school; or from high school to post-secondary life. If you haven’t yet planned for your child’s upcoming transition, the time to do so is now.
Does your child’s IEP need to be tweaked for the upcoming school year? Does your child require summer services to prevent regression? Are your child’s evaluations up to date? Is it time to check in with your child’s health care providers and specialists about educational planning? Does your child need additional time in his or her current grade? Setting your child up for success takes time; it’s better to start sooner rather than later.
