Day 3: Maintaining Progress in the Early Years
Today’s topic is the maintenance of progress for our youngest students during this pandemic. You may be a parent who has noticed gains in your little one’s ability to speak or otherwise communicate since the school year began.
As a parent and a professional, I cannot stress enough the importance of Early Intervention— not only referring to the Department of Health’s program for children ages 0 to 3, but also the importance of Intervening Early.
From what I have seen in my own young kids and in my early childhood education studies, children are sponges during their first eight years of life. The right intervention, particularly for children who display developmental delays, can make a huge difference in setting the child up for success down the road.
You may be wondering how your child will maintain his or her progress while out of school indefinitely during this health emergency. If so, I am available for affordable consultations, including a review of your child’s recent IEPs and evaluations. I can help strategize about your options and propose a course of action.
