DAY 4; The Multitasking Parent: "It's Easier to Go to Work"
Today’s blog post is dedicated to the parents who are juggling two or more full-time jobs: Homeschooling their child(ren) and caring for their child(ren), all while maintaining full-time employment.
I’m sure the parents who are still employed during this pandemic (with the ability to work from home) are grateful to even have a job. But that doesn’t make the task any less herculean.
You might identify with the following:
Arriving an hour before the supermarket opens to ensure you come home with one package of paper towels
Logging into that webinar at the exact moment when your eldest is about to land her cartwheel on her sibling’s head
Patting yourself on the back for still being able to grasp second grade multi-digit subtraction
Then realizing you totally blew the potty training timetable and now have a puddle to clean up
And, taking your third conference call of the day while being followed around the kitchen by your always hungry/always thirsty youngsters
The Quote of the Day came from my spouse: “It’s easier to go to work!” While we strive to do it all, it's impractical to assume we can do it all at the same time.
If you’re the parent of a child with special needs, and you’re concerned about how to make up for the loss of schooling during this pandemic, book a consultation by videoconference here: https://www.msrlegal.org/book-your-consultation.
