Day 67: The DIR/Floortime Model

DIR/Floortime is an intervention used for children with autism and other developmental disabilities who exhibit educational and social-emotional challenges. “DIR” stands for the Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-Based Model. Like other recognized interventions, DIR/Floortime’s approach is rooted in a comprehensive assessment. According to the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning in Maryland, DIR/Floortime aims to create interaction with children by tapping into their initiative. A DIR Program includes occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, counseling, and parent support.

To discuss the possibility of funding for autism interventions, book a virtual consultation on my website, https://www.MSRLegal.ORG/Book-Your-Consultation . Follow @MSRLegalConsulting on Instagram where I post about the evolving landscape of special education in the wake of Covid-19.

Be well,
