Day 68: The Benefits of Turn-Taking
Turn-taking is a key component of your child’s social skill development. For example, the ability to initiate a turn-taking activity during play leads to enhanced social interaction between peers. It also encourages spontaneous communication. Turn-taking may come naturally to most neurotypical children, but for many young children with disabilities, it is a skill that must be explicitly taught.
Your child’s IEP should enable your child to practice his or her social-emotional skills. To learn more about how an IEP can support your child’s social skill needs, book a virtual consultation on my website, https://www.MSRLegal.ORG/Book-Your-Consultation . Stay well,
Oroma
