The Mask Debate Plays Out in Court

Yesterday, a Nassau County Supreme Court Judge issued an order striking down a regulation requiring face masks in public places, including schools, as unlawful. If permitted to stand, individuals can refuse to wear face coverings in indoor public settings, including inside of school buildings.

New York State appealed that Order today, and asked the Appellate Division to allow the mask mandate to stand during the pendency of the appeal: https://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/demetriou-ny-osc-appeal.pdf.
